I have several large gallereis and was wonder how Gallery is when you have an image database of over 500,000 images? I have tried several products, all good, but once I get to the scale I have the databases slow down considerably. Forums work effortlessly with millions of posts so I know it is possible, any specifics on Gallery and this size? Thanks again, -Jason Get Tanked, |

care2 has over 1M items and tens of thousands of users.
But they run a modified version of G2 to improve speed. They e.g. removed the image firewall and link to the image files directly.
There are several 100k+ items installations of G2 which run reasonably fast.
Just don't use the useralbums module, since there's a flaw in the G2 permission system which we still have to address which makes G2 scale very badly if useralbums are heavily used.

Forums usually don't have post level permissions and don't allow an unspecified number of nested posts / topics.
Yes there are nested forums, but they usually don't do post level permissions.
