G2/Drupal - User Integration Question

Drupal version: Drupal 4.7 RC (CVS)
Gallery version = 2.1 core 1.1.0
PHP version = 4.4.2 cgi
Webserver = Apache/1.3.33 (Unix) DAV/1.0.3 mod_fastcgi/2.4.2 mod_gzip/1.3.26.1a PHP/4.4.2 mod_ssl/2.8.22 OpenSSL/0.9.7e
Database = mysql 5.0.18-standard-log, lock.system=flock
Toolkits = ArchiveUpload, Exif, Getid3, NetPBM, SquareThumb, Thumbnail, Gd, ImageMagick
Acceleration = none, none
Operating system = Linux rhod 2.4.29-grsec+w+fhs6b+gr0501+nfs+a32+++p4+sata+c4+gr2b-v6.189 #1 SMP Mon Feb 7 13:23:30 PST 2005 i686

I've reviewed both the Gallery2:How to Embed Gallery2 in Drupal - Gallery Codex and the README.TXT & INSTALL.TXT in gallery-cvs.tar. I'm slowly educating myself on how the integration works, but I'm not clear on the process for user maintenance. So far it appears that users are only fully integrated when they are manually added to both systems (discounting for the time being the Drupal import mod which I may end up using). Is this correct? Could someone point me to a detailed online overview of how this is actually supposed to work?

In summary -- You only need users in Drupal. The users will be automatically created in Gallery2 on login or if a user is modified. If you have users with the same names already in Gallery2 then now problem, the sync will occur. The only issue will occur if you have no users in Drupal and all your users in Gallery2. This reverse sync will not occur and you would need to create the users in Drupal before installing the gallery.module (or just deactivate it until the Drupal users are created).

Please use that forum for updates to this. We now have a dedicated forum for Gallery2/Drupal integration which should make it much easier to support, rather than the 2-3 Drupal forums and the Gallery2 Integration forum.

Could someone please move this thread to the Gallery2 Integration forum.
