hi,
well i'm getting there, slowly but surely.. what i'd now like to do is the following
create some groups as follows
1. admin - all access
2. Full Member - has own album and full access to it - done
3. Member - who doesn't get his own album, but can do anything else like add comments etc...
4. guest
so what i want is that new members do not get an album by default. I have to create it. Thereby i move those selected people into the full member group and give them an album .
Can/How do i do that.
one more thing. in the matrix theme there is a drop down actions menu for each image and album. How do i remove this from display (to save space).
hope you can see what i'm trying to do albeit badly explained,
cheers

1. admin has all access anyway
3. what do you mean with "who doesn't get his own album"?
4. guest is an existing user and member of the everybody group
@useralbums:
configure them in
site admin -> useralbums
and if you don't want auto created useralbums at all, don't use the useralbums module and create albums manually yourself.

thanks,
i think then you've answered it for me.
I mean by "who doesn't get his own album" - that std members are members i want to log in (this will eventually be linked to a forum) but not to be able to add to an online gallery. I don;t have the server space right now but when i get my own server fixed it won;t be a problem anyway.
So if i just switch off the module that'll be the only thing affected ? ie the auto creation of new member albums..
cool..
any thoughts on the drop down menu thingy,
cheers

This isn't quite answered for me. I have 4 distinct user groups:
Admin - obvious
Guest - obvious
Member - Those who are registered and get a user album created automatically, can upload to and manage their albums including uploading to but not changing public albums.
non-Member - Those who are registered users and can only comment
Has anyone created a user album module that operates by group rather than for every registered user?
