I don't know if this is a migration issue but I just did a migration and everything went off without a [major] hitch. I'm trying to turn off album random highlighting and force each album to use only one photo all the time for highlighting. So far I've deactivated the Random Highlight module and cleared the DB cache twice, cleared my template cache, cleared my browser cache, manually set the highlighted photos yet still new photos are highlighted for each album on each page refresh.
What am I missing here?

the easiest way would be to deactivate and uninstall the randomhighlight module in site admin -> modules.

Thanks. A Valiant effort but unfortunately even after uninstalling the random highlighting module the same thing happens: On every page load a new image cycles into place on the album page, replacing the last one.
Could it be something integral to the theme? I'm using PG Theme. The default themes seem to work fine. If so how to disable this function in PG Theme?

Thanks for having a look. The site is at: http://www.neko.ca/photos/main.php. I like the theme but I just want to have one photo represent each gallery.

i've just checked the code.
if you really deactivated and uninstalled the randomhighlight module, then the random highlight onLoad handlers were removed.
maybe also change the theme just to see if that has an influence.

Thanks for taking a look, Valiant.
Yep! Both deactivated and uninstalled.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Yep! As stated above, the random highlight issue only persists with this PG Theme theme. Do I have to hack the template and remove the onLoad handlers? Is so where do I look?

if it's a pg theme issue then it's probably a pg theme option which you have to disable somewhere.
best ask the question in the pg theme thread.
