you'll see underneath it says 3 comments, yet none are displayed. i have set all the options to display comments, but no luck.
EDIT: ok after leaving 2 MORE comments, they finally show up, but only on the sidebar, not under the photo.
very strange behavior.

ive found the problem... if i change the parameter for show comments to lets say 5, NO comments are displayed. Not even one. If I change it to one, however, comments, are displayed. I can reproduce this erratic behavior consistently.
also, as it is set to display only the 1st comment, if there are more comments and I click "display all comments" i get this error:
valiant, or anyone else, have you been able to check the link? i feel the commenting system has problem:
1.) check the link, can't view the additional comments
2.) comments are not displayed unless the number of comments to show is LESS THAN the actual number of comments. (i.e. if i set the show comments value to 5, and only have 3 comments, NONE are displayed)

I have the same problem. Either integrated (in PHPNuke 7.8) or stand-alone I can't view comments. It shows there are comments for the image, but doesn't display them. I tried setting the comments value to 1, but doesn't help me any...

I have this same problem. In admin mode, I can see that there are comments, even 1, but in guest mode (or using another browser where I'm not logged in as admin), I see no mention of the number of comments in the photo thumbnail, and no comments visible at all when viewing the photo.
Is there a setting I'm missing here to enable it to do this?

why is that an integration topic?
add the comments block in site admin -> themes -> matrix to the photo page, browse to a photo page, add a comment, voila, there's the comments block.

i did exactly that, but they do not appear. hence i put it in this category as i beleive there is some problem with the intergration.
i have a similiar (opposite) problem with the register block showing, even though its off.

when it's an integration issue, please mention in what G2 is intrgated. either add it in your forum signature or in every title of your topics.

sorry about that. its in mambo ver 4.5.2, using gallery beta 4. here's a screen shot showing it is enabled:
If you visit my photo gallery in mambo www.reemasville.com and click photos, there is no option to view comments.

it only shows the comments block if there's something to show. so, you'll have to add a comment to see it.
as you see, it works:
http://www.reemasville.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=50&g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=105&g2_fromNavId=x50d23fbe
@michiel:
please please address the double <head> problem. you just paste G2's head content in mambo's <body>.

http://www.reemasville.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=50&g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=210
you'll see underneath it says 3 comments, yet none are displayed. i have set all the options to display comments, but no luck.

please take a look and let me know if this is a bug, or my error. thank you.

maybe you have different settings per album.
edit album -> themes overrides the defaults.

i checked. set eveything to global. i have it set to display 1 comment (otherwise no comments are displayed.)
if you click the button to "view all comments" you get an error. try it here:
