How can I make the "Highlight" stick in album view with PG Theme? I want to turn off the randomization feature so that the same photo always represents the same album.

Hi Grover, I thought it was the default that activation for randon highlights were off, but could be mistaken.
If you go to the edit album tag there is an option under the 'Album' tag that comes under the heading Random Highlight with a 'tick' box.

Hope that helps.

Hi Steve: No matter what I do I can't turn off this random highlight feature. I've tried turning it off in each separate album, in the root album. I've tried deactivating the module, uninstalling the module, reinstalling the module. I've cleared the cache a dozen times, rebuilt the thumbnails a dozen times. I've stood on my head and cursed to the west. I've set a highlight image for each album a hundred times and still every time the page loads the highlight image changes. I've tried uploading a separate image to represent the album. Nothing works. I hate this feature and I want to get rid of it. How can I do it?

Grover, do you have by chance the following activated in PGthemes settings:
"ALBUM :: 1st Page - Link Thumbnail directly to photo page (to work must activate "Image Block" Module)"
If yes, turn it off ... ;)

Gallery version = 2.1-soon core 1.0.25
PHP version=5.1.2 apache2handler
Webserver=Apache/2.2.0 (Win32) DAV/2 PHP/5.1.1 mod_ssl/2.2.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8a

LFrank you are a genius. I could kiss you! Whatever that setting is, turning it off it worked like a charm. For the record:

In order to prevent Random Highlight from working on the album main page you must turn off:

Quote:
"ALBUM :: 1st Page - Link Thumbnail directly to photo page (to work must activate "Image Block" Module)"

Whew!

Try the "nature" theme, it's almost the same, and it fixed lockups for me

BEST THEME EVER! Many thanks for all of your hard work.

The only problem that I'm having is that the microthumb navigation pane doesn't seem to respect what is set in the theme settings regarding first & last thumb. My visitors don't like that, so I turned it off in the setup, but the first and last still show. Is this a bug or did I do something wrong?

It is a bug. There is no real fix yet although Pedro suggested a hack ealier in this thread. Involves installing and old *.inc files I think. Do a search.

Hope Pedro gets time to make this wonderful theme compatible with 2.1...

Thanks, Dayo. I did find that and it works like a champ. Boy, it's hard searching for something in this forum topic. The PG theme really needs it's own forum!

With regards to your post above - I'm really interested in where to find your PGtheme upgrade...

Again Thank you :-)

spectacular theme pedro! thank you very much and to all that are helping iron it out.

i installed it last week and works more than perfect for my needs. only one thing i'd like to modify, and haven't been able to figure out, is getting a larger size imageblock (random image). i understand that the imageblock on the sidebar defaults to the thumbnail size. i would like to move the imageblock from the sidebar so that it'll show up below my welcome message. i did that successfully by copying a couple of lines from sidebar.tpl to author.tpl. but now i can't figure out how to get a larger imageblock. i would like for it to be just a little larger than the thumbnail. does anybody know how?

thank you:)

I'm having a customisation problem with this theme. Because of the dimensions of the images on my site i want the microtumbs to be displayed below or above the image, in 2 rows of about 8 or 9 microthumbs wide. I've been looking into the tpl files but could use some pointers.

Anyone here have any experience with this? All help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem with Gallery 2.0.2, PGTheme 1.0 RC7 and Joomla 1.0.5 with http://opensource.4theweb.nl Joomla/G2 bridge.
It doesn't seem to be a bridge problem. And the problem (the header with admin links, etc is broken) only occurs when viewing the page with the photo and the little thumbnails around.

Here's the examples:

EMBEDDED:
- NO errors
- ERRORS

UNWRAPPED
- NO errors
- NO errors
Any ideas? Thx a lot!

matze,
I get the same error with it integrated with Drupal. I messed with it a bit then just switched themes. I'm still using the charcoal colorpack but the rest I'm creating. When you embed it you loose a lot of the cool PGtheme stuff anyway because of a lack of space.

Sorry I can't help.

PGTheme has something that messes when trying to embed. I consider PGTheme the best theme for G2 so i hope that Pedro will try to solve this problem or at least tell us where to put the hands ;)

G2 is so popular, CMSs are so popular. PGTheme could be even more popular!

No, not per default - an actions dropdown menue will only show if you have 'show item actions' enabled in the theme admin
- otherwise it will be hidden in the individual item actions on the items page itsself.

PGtheme offers a

OK?

Hi again,

I have changed my photo.tpl to always show the Download link:

<a href="{g->url arg1="view=core.DownloadItem" arg2="itemId=`$theme.item.id`"}">
{g->text text="Download %s" arg1=$theme.sourceImage.itemTypeName.1}
</a>

By now I have it below the photo title, description and sizes, on the left side, below microthumbs.

This way my users can right-click on the link and do a "save-as". This only works if I do not turn off right clicks by default.

Would be a great feature to have it in future releases...

Third posting....

I noticed that the embedded quicktime plugin is overlapping with the contents of the site below it.

Is this a firefox issue?

You can see it on my gallery at http://gallery.pgt.de/v/familyAndFriends/strampler/

the first item there is a mpg movie.

I had to put the navigation controls ontop of the pictures to have them accessible...

I've updated the PGtheme' theme.inc fixing the login issue for non-admins by patching the updated .inc of the RC7 distribution (not the one in the ZIP but the one distributed separately).
In case you'll need it until Pedro comes with his own/real update.
(Install all files from the RC7 plus the latest bugfixes from the first post and copy the new theme.inc into it)

As soon as I installed the PGTheme, it stopped showing my EXIF info, I've gone through and checked all the settings... EXIF info should be showing up but isn't showing.

edit: I just figured out why: the one gallery that the EXIF isn't showing I uploaded the photos, but put a size restraint... so they got automatically resized, and in that process probably lost their exif info.

Got this error message at Site Admin --> Theme after installing the theme.

Incompatible theme!
Core API Required: 6.5 (available: 7.1)
Theme API Required: 2.1 (available: 2.3)

Is it that I cannot use PG theme on G2 2.1 RC1?

My gallery has the possibility to add comments.
Example: http://www.hasselo.net/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=577
In the current situation the comments are shown in a pop-up block (add comment) but I can not see to which photo the comment relates
I would like to show the comments with the photo.
Is it possible, and if so: how?

Thanks for the help, MacWilliam
