The new theme refractor rendered my old greymatter theme obsolete, but I have now redone it as a color pack.

Just unzip it into modules/colorpack/packs/ install and activate the colorpack module and select it under your theme (like the matrix theme).

You can get a quick glance at it on my site.

Edit: Updated for beta4

I know I'm dense, but why don't I have a Color Pack module option to try this with?

And I don't mean locating the option in Site Admin > Layout & Themes > Matrix as discussed in the other thread. I mean I don't seem to have an option to install a Color Pack module under 'Modules' at all in the Bingo installation I just threw together in the last couple of days.

Any clues appreciated.

Ah "Layouts & Themes". You have an old version of Gallery installed. The entire theme system has been redone. The term "layout" is no longer used.

Try upgrading to a current nightly or CVS: http://codex.gallery2.org/index.php/Gallery2:faq#How_to_upgrade_Gallery2.3F

http://galleryupdates.jpmullan.com/

or just wait for B4 to be released in hopefully the next couple of days.

EDIT: I wanted to say, very nice Stoffer! Very nice! Good work!

Thanks a lot, nivekiam!

BTW: I think that these color packs actually are more easy to work with than the old theme. Good work mindless!

I´ve used your Colorpack here:

It´s a pity, that greymatter doesn´t fit to the DHTML-Menue (yellow-Icons)

You're sites apparently down right now. At least I can't connect.

Can you describe more what you mean by "DHTML-Menue (yellow-Icons)"? The yellow Icons part is throwing me off.

borderschlieper, I assume its vice versa ... the icons seem to have a not-transparent border - but the same is true for all icons if you have them activated - those in the admin block too.
nivekiam, I will post a picture in a few minutes

here it is (showing most of the annoyances ;))

Look at the tab box ""Matrix" - and the poor Gallery Logo. Not to mention my "Spiral Notebooks".
Btw. is there a way to easily change/switch the Gallery Logo?

Hi LFrank.

Yes, those tabs looks aweful, but I have no idea why they would display like that for you. They work just great for me. Maybe try to clear your browser cache and reload?

Regarding the icons and certain image frames: As nivekiam says those have not-transparent, white backgrounds and it would be a bit of a hassle to change all those to suit just this one color scheme. I might take a look at the iconpack to see whether it would be easy to do.

stoffer, I cleared all caches available (template, database, browser - even eaccelerator) - the tabs still look this way (on two different machines).

Great work - I love the 'grey look' - would even switch of my icons ;) - Thanks!!

Thanks for the kind words!

Regarding those pesky tabs: It looks like only one of the four gifs in the color pack is used. I cannot load your website but try and see whether the issue persist in Edit Album and Edit Photo which uses the same tabs.

We might not use the same pre-beta4 version of G2, but I cannot see that it should matter.

stoffer,

I've killed obviously something - or something which needs confirmation of my firewall messages - with cleaning the eaccelerator cache which I can't fix remotely ;) - all pages using php are currently stalled (my server-status shows a bunch of "W"'s ....)

(I'm running the CVS from this morning (06:00 (CST+1))

schlieper, yeah, but I'm not sure if an icon-sized version of the image your mouse is pointing to would still look that good :)

We would need some "greymatter-Icons"

I disagree, but only slightly. We need better icons that have better transparency.

I slipped on cleaning up the albumselect tree icons. At least I never promised it just mentioned it in passing ;) I have them cleaned up for another project anyway, or at least icons similar. I'll try to see what I can do about getting those comitted over the current ones.

The paularmstrong icons, you can get the original PSD and clean them up yourself, or create your own iconpack, or (don't have link handy) use another icon pack, KSIconPack, somone posted a week or so ago (in developer I think). It uses transparent PNGs using alpha transparency, they look great in FF, Opera, etc, but they look like the above in IE, because IE SUCKS! ;)

LFrank, @ the tabs apparently were fixed sometime today, so I was told. Try updating later or tomorrow.

Ah, the joys of running CVS and being bleeding edge ;)

nivekiam, hmm - even after the B4 CVS finally flying in, I still see the "strange" tabboxes using greymatter ...

I just upgraded to b4 (release, not CVS) and am using your colorpack. I too get the same tabs. If I remove those tab*.gif files, I get no tabs whatsoever, but with, I get the "double look" that LFrank had. If I view just the tabs, they look right to me...

Perhaps something is broken in the release of b4 ?

Thanks so much for greymatter - it's SO pleasant looking / professional, when I upgraded to b4 and lost my previous greymatter I figured I'd have to go out and guess the colors, but found this thread thankfully. ;)

Some bug have been introduce during the last week or so. I have no idea what it is. :(

hmmm, Well apparently that problem also lived in the Matrix theme for a short while. Ozgreg found that it was a minor css problem and fixed it.

I compared theme.css (from matrix) and color.css (from greymatter) and found this part needs to change

div.gbTabBar div {
    display: inline;
    padding: 6px 12px 5px 4px;
    background: url('../greymatter/tab_right.gif') no-repeat right top !important; }

to this

#gallery div.gbTabBar span span {
    display: inline;
    padding: 6px 12px 5px 4px;
    background: url('../greymatter/tab_right.gif') no-repeat right top !important; }

Note the change on the first line of that section. Once I made that change in my color.css for greymatter it worked perfectly.

I also had this problem with the tabs after upgrading to Beta 4. It went away when I cleared my local browser cache - maybe there had been some changes to the CSS that weren't getting reloaded or something? Also, and alas, this problem only manifested itself to me in FF. For once, IE worked OK.

Hey, I just noticed this as well! A fixed and working (knock on wood) version is uploaded.

Thanks for all the feedback and sorry about not caching the change.

stoffer, any other fixes - or is it ok to use the 'self fixed' module ?

I did a small clean up in the color.css, so maybe it is better to download it. If any new problems show up, it is easier for me the know what 'version' that is used.

I changed the color.css for New and Updated.

.giNew, .giUpdated {
    width: 60px;
    border-width: 1px !important;
    border-style: solid !important;
    padding: 0px 4px !important;
    margin-top: 6px;
}

You can see the added code here (I didn't upload the new code):

Hi everybody!

I'm going on a long travel and wont be back until the new year (January 2006) and as a result will not be able to make any additions or fixes on this color pack before then. I also probably wont respond to any emails. Sorry for any trouble in advance. :)
