i guess your last version was alpha 4 or something like that. that should be ok.

if you have customized templates, you have to remove them and apply the customizations again based on the new templates.
that is, if you have any templates/local/ directories (if you have them, you should know, because only you can have created them), then remove these local directories.

then go to yourgalleryurl/lib/tools/ and hit FlushTemplates and FlushCache.

old files are harmless, missing/modified files would be bad.

so, you say your G2 works, you can browse around, just the images are broken?
can you post a link to your G2?

your G2 works perfectly....
...just the image thumbs are all broken.
this happened for someone else too. but we don't know the reason.

and we don't mark broken derivatives (that's on our todo list though). but that doesn't help you.

what does it mean for you?
you have to recreate the thumbs somehow. or start from scratch.

yeah this psycho games work for me...from time to time, lol.

could you run the unit tests?
yourgalleryurl/lib/tools/phpunit/index.php
this will take a while (15 minutes or so). please save the generated page with your browser (File -> save as) and attach the file to the forums or load it to your webserver and link to it.

before nuking this install, i'd install a second, fresh gallery in parallel on the same server.
use the current nightly snapshot and activate only one image toolkit. then check if everything works.
make sure there are no warnings in the systemcheck step.
perhaps the broken images are caused by one of the image toolkits that doesn't work for you very well. perhaps it's a combination of image toolkit + square thumbs, no idea.

Done. I've turned on Display_Errors, cose tests fail in some step.

flasht, your installation is corrupt.
Are you sure you don't get any missing / modified files warnings in the systemcheck step of the upgrader?

Warning: Missing argument 5 for registerfactoryimplementation() in \modules\core\classes\GalleryCoreApi.class on line 75

Warning: Missing argument 6 for registerfactoryimplementation() in \modules\core\classes\GalleryCoreApi.class on line 75

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: setitemproperty() in \modules\core\test\phpunit\ItemPropertiesTest.class on line 78

Probably some of your files are out of date. Less probably, some db entries are corrupted.

This prevents the phpunit tests to run. But even after 600 unit tests, we see that some image toolkit operations don't work.

First you should get rid of these warnings, then run the uni tests again.

The import/export module (see user contributions) perhaps could do this. But it's out of date and doesn't work with the current G2 versions.
The author of the module promised to update it, but it may take a while.
