Hi everybody...

This is obsolete with the major change to layouts and theme that have been done for Beta4. Please use greymatter as a color pack instead:

http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=32947

I made a new theme in dark shades of grey, which in my opinion goes very well as the background for colored photographs. It is basically a modification of the lighter matrix theme.

Edit: This is a link to the new color pack:

Feel free to use it. :)

Any comments are of course welcome!

Thanks. Yes, it is based on March 28 code. :)

Edit1: Updated version uploaded: Changed the input and text area background color to light grey in order to be able see the black text.

Edit2: Updated version uploaded: Definition for .giNew and .giUpdated added (text instead of image in newitems module)

thanks, this is lovely...I really like it. I've made a couple of tiny changes for my site, but I think it's very nice :)

i'm sorry, but I can't get this theme installed on my site. I unzip'd the folder and uploaded into themes directory. perms and ownership is fine, but it doesn't show up in default themes.

might the reason be the missing themes.inc in the zip file? this is what it complains about when i force it to use the theme.

NEVERmind... I downloaded from CVS and ran the upgrader (..and all that stuff) and now your theme works great. BTW, great job with it! only gripe i have is with the photo frames because a couple of them (specifically spiral) don't have a transparent backdrop so you can imagine how that looks with the black.
but 'shadow' looks fantasmic.

Glad you like it. :)

Regarding the photo frame I use my own solid white frame and just discovered that I can set the pading to 0 pixel in order to remove the padding gap between the photo and the frame (the dark background was showing through).

Obsolete addition!

(This post/download was to replace gif's in the newitems module that look like crap with this theme, but this is now handled by text instead of images)

Sorry everyone, I have tried everything and cannot get G2 to recognize the greymatter theme. I created a folder under the /themes folder named grey. Then I unzipped the greymatter.zip file here and it does not show up as a theme I can use.

Permissions/owners looks perfect,

Ideas?

i wouldn't spend a lot of time to get it to work. in 2 weeks or so, the whole themeing API will have changed and all old stuff will be incompatible.

The theme should work without any problems with the Beta3 version of Gallery2. It does for me.

Thanks for pointing this out.

I will start to work on a similar theme to GreyMatter based on the new Matrix layout once this major layout/theme change hits CVS. If it isn't to complex to work out, I hope to have it ready once Beta4 is released. :)

Looks very, very nice. Can't wait to have Beta4 released and this theme reworked for the new API. Do we know yet if this is the last planned theme API change?

Also, nice photos! I also have a Digital Rebel, and my similar swan photos don't look quite as nice with my Sigma 70-300 APO than they did with your 200mm f/2.8L . ;)

Thanks for the kind words. And yes, the EF 80-200 f/2.8L is an awesome piece for glass indeed. :)

Keep up the good work.
