Since updating to the latest build and tweaking the MIME types --
My newly uploaded photos don't obey the maximum image size limits I have in place. I previously had three versions, 800xwhatever, 1024xwhatever, and then a 1280x1280 maximum image size. (Keep original unchecked).
Now I get the two resized versions, but the biggest version is the actual size version (over 2800 pixels on each side).
Something change? Thanks guys!

how are you uploading images? GR/applet have never supported ItemAddOptions like size limit. There's a bug filed for that.

Hmm, I thought I tried uploading both through GR and the web-based submission form. I must be going crazy.
GR 1.4 can do the resizing itself before upload though, correct? If so, what kind of downsizing algorithm does it use? Would I find better quality just downsizing them beforehand in Photoshop?
Oops, back on topic: I'll try uploading via the web-based form. THAT method should properly limit my uploaded image size, right?

yes, GR can pre-resize using ImageMagick.. i don't recall if you can specify the quality setting like you can in the G2 imagemagick module.
yes, sizelimit should work through any other upload method (browser/server/web).

Ericular, you mentioned tweaking MIME types and images not obeying sizelimit in the same post... do you suspect there is some correlation?

Hmm, I guess I just included the MIME comment in case it happened to be related to my issue -- that was a recent thing that I had to change.
This "issue" probably won't be an issue for me any more. I like using Gallery Remote to upload photos to my gallery, and so lately I've just been downsizing my photographs in Photoshop anyway. G2 will still make a couple even-smaller versions for me, but at least the "max" size will still be acceptable.
