Ok, I need some advice on what to do here.
I know that I need to upgrade my PHP version (actually, the whole damn server) on my Gallery box, but I've run into a few quirks.
I initially wanted to upgrade just the PHP version, but for some reason I can't find anywhere that the actual runtime of PHP is installed, just linked in with Apache. How can I find what the initial install of PHP was linked with as far as options, etc? I may be mistaken, because the server has been up and running for a few years now, but I believe I installed Apache just out of the RedHat box, and maybe upgraded it a few times along the way. I've downloaded the PHP 4.3.9 source and was following some instructions I found in the forums to relink/upgrade, but I want to make sure I'm not gonna do something that will muck things up!
Also, would it be infinately easier just to re-install my OS and bring it up to RedHat 9 or so, thus bringing in a newer version of PHP, etc?
Thanks for any info!!
