Hi there,

When I try to access my setup script for gallery, I get a 500 Internal Server error. In the troubleshooting section of the FAQ, it said to delete the .htaccess file in /setup, which I did, but I still get the error. I've cleared my cache and everything, but I still get this. Any ideas?

Thanks
Sean

A 500 error will generate a more detailed message in your webserver's error_log. What does it say there?

Beckett:

Thanks for replying. My error log states this:

Quote:
[Sat Oct 2 18:44:26 2004] [alert] [client 67.86.60.144] /home/herron-f/public_html/photohosting/.htaccess: Invalid command '{\\rtf1\\mac\\ansicpg10000\\cocoartf102', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

I noticed it mentioned the .htaccess file, even though I deleted it, and 3 FTP clients as well as my server's control panel show that its not there (they normally do show .htaccess files)

Is that the same .htaccess file? That doesn't look like anything that's placed in a Gallery .htaccess file.

Well, I did install Gallery into a directory named photohosting (I was planning to use it to host some of my friends photos for them).

Your .htaccess file in your gallery directory should be totally empty. Is that the case?
(And the one in gallery/setup should be removed entirely)

The .htaccess file had some gibberish in it. When I deleted it, the setup worked! Thanks!
