Geeklog, Gallery, & $GALLERY_BASEDIR

I'm using the current Geeklog 1.3.9 and the current Gallery 1.4.4. I'm having problems using the $GALLERY_BASEDIR variable with Gallery 1.4.4. From the things I've searched on, it looks like 1.4.4 has changed in how it handles the $GALLERY_BASEDIR variable. For me, the variable is empty.

My code worked prior to 1.4.4 but did not work after the upgrade. Fortunately, I'm using my test machine prior to uploading it to my web server. *whew*! :)

Can someone please tell me what is the "new" method to obtain the path to which Gallery is installed in?

Would be sooo greatly appreciated.

Not a useful reply, I'm afraid, but when I recently upgraded to 1.4.4., I did not have to change/mess with basedir. (geeklog 1.3.9).
