Hi,

Is there a problem with Windows XP SP2 and Gallery 1.4.3 pl2? I've been having strange problems which only seem to exist on SP2 machines, but my SP1 machine works fine.

What happens is that all the layout is removed from the main gallery page, so I'm left with web standard text, and no background colour etc. When I click on a gallery itself, suddenly all the formating comes back, and it seems to be fine.. Until I navigate back to the main page, where its knackered again..

I've checked the web server logs and there doesn't seem to be any errors there. I'm guessing it is SP2 thats caused the problem, but I wondered if anyone knew why? (and has anyone contacted the greatness that is Microsoft to tell them about it?)

Cheers
David

Oh.. I should probably mention that SP2 is on the client that I'm using to access Gallery, not the server - thats a Linux box in a hosting company somewhere...

If there is, I doubt there's a lot we can do about it. None of us have SP2, and its release has been delayed again. I can't say I'm too concerned, since the general public doesn't have access to it.

If there is an issue, it's MS's problem, really. Until we can test, there's no way to know.

If anyone wants to try, you can get the RC2 release at here

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/sp2predl.mspx

I was wondering if it was anything to with the fact that SP2 has toughened up the file types that XP recognises - the first RC release broke Citrix connections through a web browser as the file extension wasn't allowed to run directly from the web site. At one point today, it looked as if I was getting this type of error.
