apparently Gallery 3 no longer works on Ubuntu 14.04? I installed and everything went fine except when I try to go to my home page the screen is completely blank, white. I tried following different suggestions from forums and Google searches but nothing worked. are you planning on making a version that will work with Ubuntu 14.04 and later?

Let me start with pointing you to this: Gallery going in to hibernation

Now, understand that the distribution of Linux that you're using pays little ability on whether Gallery runs or not. It's more based on Apache, PHP, and MySQL as well as a few other ancillary packages for image manipulation/etc.

It would be most helpful if you took a look at both the apache logs as well as the gallery logs as a first start to figure out what needs to be tweaked.

Just for ref, I run G3 on Ubuntu 14.04 - distribution doesn't matter, the software that supports Gallery does.

Also, normally (but not always), "completely blank, white" pages are caused by a PHP coding error. If you're using a custom code, try the defaults. If you're using all defaults, maybe a file got corrupted/left out on upload (in which case you could try re-uploading the files).

Other than that, the logs will be the best clue.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check the logs. I currently use Plex to serve my photos and media files and it works perfectly but I wanted to be able to provide only photos to family without the need for a Plex account log in for each of them. I will see what the log's say.

not sure exactly what I did but it seems to be working now. Thanks for all the help. actually, I know what I did. using the ip instead of the url works. not sure why I can't use the url but at least I can get to it now without a blank white screen.
