Hi there
When I attempt to upload new photos I either receive a msg that particular image could not be uploaded, or if successful, they are then shown as fuzzy grey outlines (no actual image).
If I then click to go to largest res. the image is there.
Album shows fuzzy grey outlines.
Help please.

Try smaller images to see if it some limit.
What image toolkit are you using? Admin-> graphics.
Best not use GD as it eats resources and shares with php as well. So a double whammy.

got a url of this fuzzy grey outlines?

I'm not trying to upload any large files eg

tree cert is 194kb - on gold coast song is 143kb - won't load as
thumbnails - not visible until click thru' to largest size image

As tests - flower blue 11kb flower pot 12 kb - they loaded OK

Further test - violets1 - 47kb - didn't load as thumbnail

I thought I was using image magick but I just checked and see where it's
saying "we could not locate ImageMagick on your system - scr shot attached.

Hope some of the above replies are able to help me get this sorted.

You will have to switch to GD as a image toolkit.
You will have to sort out why IM is not detected (did it did work at one time?) with your host.

Yes ImageMagick worked fine previously (a few months ago).
Something I should mention is that during that time my website server was changed but my host company assures me as below:

Quote:
I have made sure that the new server has the needed image processor applications for images and it does.

Not sure where to go to check further.

We did not change to code for IM so it seems your host perhpas has IM installed but we can't detect where it is.
Do you have command prompt access?

Checking again with my website host.
Not sure what "command prompt access" is so probably not without some help - it sounds like DOS ...?

Yes, similar to DOS, for accessing various commands on the host.

Perhaps the GD toolkit is good enough for your requirements.

Support from my website hosting company tells me that

Quote:
the install process seems to have failed. I have run the "convert" application via command line to verify.

It is now working and I have switched back to ImageMagick.

Thanks for your amazingly intuitive assistance :-)
