I have same problem - default upload window sometimes lost. If you try again or on 3rd times it will work. I must note that server add module dont working as well. I have no limit execution in php, very big upload post size and etc, but sometimes it freeze (first 50 images isnt problem but then randomly freeze...).

I have the same problem as well.
After I click on the select photo button in the upload window the window simply closes and I cannot select any photos.
I tried to install gallery remote as a workaround and was unsuccessful.

I have tried with IE and with Chrome and the same thing happens.
When I click the button to select the photos the window closes instead of presenting a window to choose the photos.

When I append /upgrade/index.php to the url it throws an error.

:-(
Dang... Something went wrong!

We tried really hard, but it's broken.

Hey wait, you're an admin! We can tell you stuff.

There's an error message below and you can find more details in gallery3/var/logs (look for the file with the most recent date on it). Stuck? Stop by the Gallery 3 Forums and ask for help. You can also look at our list of open tickets to see if the problem you're seeing has been reported. If you post a request, here's some useful information to include:

Host name: boscustweb1604.eigbox.net
Operating system: Linux 3.2.52
Apache: Unknown
PHP: 5.3.13
MySQL: 5.5.32-log
Server load:
Graphics toolkit: imagemagick
Version: 3.0.4 (Ricochet)
Albums: 258
Photos: 7086

APPPATH/Bootstrap.php[ 61 ] » Event_Core::run( arguments )

DOCROOT/index.php[ 116 ] » require( arguments )

Environment

When I check the error log in /var/logs it has a single line:
<?php defined('SYSPATH') or die('No direct script access.'); ?>

Any ideas?

Has anybody sorted out the upload problem, I just realized now after few months I tried to create a new album on my website and after uploading my files, they stay in the upper box, normally after when you upload them they going to the lower box and get a green something marked as it's done, but now after uploading they all stay in the upper box, even I can click on the done button but nothing happens.
Anybody experienced similar, any solution for that? Best as I know I haven't changed anything on my server side or in the gallery admin area.
I couldn't find anything on goolge.
