Search trouble no. digits

I have a really rare issue.
I've being using gallery for almost 6 months and I modify the code for the search, instead of searching all the images, now it only searches the complete criteria, and shows only the images that have all of it.

But now i've realize that since the beginning of the installation of gallery, there were problems with searching 2-3 character criteria (e.g. u2, box) and also que numbers (e.g. 180, 360)
How can I fix this? Any suggestions?

Use this: http://codex.galleryproject.org/Gallery3:Modules:short_search_fix

I don't know what changes you made to Gallery; you may need to combine your changes with the module.
