New 3.0.9 successful install - Getting Blank page

This is my first time working with Gallery. I have installed a new 3.0.9 installation on a 1 and 1 shared server. I am getting a blank page after selecting the "Start Using Gallery" link. I have looked at the Gallery logs and the only thing in there is a message about not finding date.timezone. The site logs don't list anything unusual either. I have tweaked the .htaccess file to include the "AddType x-mapp-php5 .php" at the top of the file as well as enabling the ReWrite section, but it didn't change anything. My "/var" directory is set for 777. The installation script gave me the username and password for Gallery but I haven't been able to do anything beyond the install. I have double checked the database.php information and it is correct. My phpinfo is here: http://www.rmbctx.com/dance2014/phpinfo.php Searched the forum but didn't find anything that solved my issue. Thanks Floridave. I had found this link earlier when searching the forum, before I posted my question. Did those things and still have a blank screen.
Any other ideas?

Hopefully so...
I did just stumble onto something though. I removed the phpinfo file and wanted to test the link in the post above. When I clicked on the link I was given a error message page with a login option as well. So I entered my login information that I received during setup. However, I was given the blank screen in reply...
