Tags from gallery3 to images?

Is there any way to get tags added to images in gallery3 (i.e. to the database) added to the image files themselves? Would be very good for all uses of images outside of gallery3, exporting and very important also in case of need to discontinue the use of Gallery3.

Never tried http://codex.galleryproject.org/Gallery3:Modules:iptcedit but it looks close to what you are after.
