Hi All,

Sorry last question then my new gallery installation will be live \o/

I am having an issue tagging files at the point of upload.
This is a fresh installation (3.0.4) and I have also removed all modules and used the standard theme all of which has not helped.
Please also note that I am aware I have to add the tags in the text box BEFORE clicking the upload button.
Ive also tried the batchtag module but unfortunately the structure of my album is not suited to that method.

Ive searched the forums but most people seem to try tagging after the actual upload which I am not doing.
Can anyone give me any ideas where the issue may lie? Manually adding tags would be a nightmare so Im kind of stuck now.

I have also just tried reinstalling from scratch (including recreation of the DB) with no joy :(

Have you tried using the XMP module in combination with tagging your images before upload?

The captionator module might help as well if the batch tag does not work.

Anything in the logs? The tag on upload works for me.

Thanks for the replies both. Unfortunately the images are not tagged to any extent so the XMP module would probably be a little more hassle than manually tagging them.

There is absolutely nothing in the logs (apache or gallery). My setup is vanilla ubuntu linux with standard package (included) of Apache2, PHP and MySQL so nothing particularly out of the ordinary there. I have the live server and a test vm, both built the same and the problem exists on both of them so maybe its something with the versions I am using? :s

Going to have a play with the captionator module now, failing that I could add them as separate albums then move back out.

Thanks,

Hmmm, captionator also does not work properly.

It seems I can tag albums OK but no matter which way I try to tag photos it only works i I do them individually.

I see that on occasion as well I get some '<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">' when it tries to auto complete.
Is that what you mean by 'captionator also does not work properly.'? More details would be helpful.

The other method works for me.

It just seems to do the same thing, I go into caption album, update the tags for certain images then click save but no tags are applied. There is nothing in the logs to indicate failure.

Thanks,

Can you PM login info to test the behaviour?

Unfortunately not at the moment. The server is a new build and not yet in the DMZ or natted through our firewall.

Im happy to perform any testing you wish though, it would be nice to give something back to this community for all the help so far and an excellent product (not just to get my issue fixed :))
