Is there any images amount limitation on Gallery 3.
I plan to create a Gallery with up to 18.000 pictures.
Is the database caches blowing up or something like that?

thanks in advance

Gallery software won't introduce a limit.
Your server resources might.

There is a section of caches, but you can flush them.

How many photos would be ideal in the gallery to prevent it from running painfully slow.

That's not a Gallery question; it depends on your hosting configuration. Every host is (potentially) different.

I'm running a gallery with around 7500 images in it and it runs a little slower than I would like...

Again, this is a host/server issue. I have way more than 7500 images and my Gallery is lightning fast (except a few areas that pull from other servers). There are a few small things that you can do to ensure that Gallery itself is optimized (they are discussed elsewhere in the forums), but I haven't done any of them.

Hmm, mine runs fine with about 8000 images. I agree in that it may well be a hosting issue.

How about more than 100000 photos? I want to start using Gallery 3 with my own autoarchive and I afraid, that my gallery will not be able to work properly. freezing, errors... because of limit of photos or limit of records, as simebody said (not of the volume of server!) That is true?

Just for reference. I have a gallery with over 64k images in it, and it has no problems performing well.
