Hi Gang - changed thumbnail style from 90px to 240px in theme options (using default matrix theme), and after about 6 hours (abt 2000 pics), of the rebuilding images task, nothing happened?! did I do something wrong? thanks |

What troubleshooting did you try?
Browser cache? did you view the items with a a different browser? Did you ask others? Did you see if some web devloper toll like FF and its View items option to troubleshoot?
URL?

Hi Dave -
thanks for the reply. Tried the browser cache, didn't do it. Tried it on three different browsers on three different machines. I searched the forums for "thumbnails", I found questions from others, but with no solutions. I am not sure of your last question thought -
thanks a lot,

That would mean can you show us the URL (link to your site that has the issue) so we can see the behaviour/behavior to diagnose.
What about new items? (When you add a new item do you get the old size?) make sure you are adjusting the theme options and not the advanced settings.

thanks for the reply, Dave.
I just uploaded a new image and it's still shows the thumbnail at 90px.
A thing to mention is that indeed I had the gallery "thumb_size" set to 240 in the advanced settings. I was wasn't sure why there are two places to set this so I thought to be sure I will set them both.
thanks,
gabi

Looks like we sorted it out. Don't know what it was, but re adjusting the theme options appeared to have fixed it.

thank you so much! So it was the theme?? I want to learn from situations like these, so when one want to change the size of the thumbnails, should only set that in the theme options and NOT in the advanced settings?
Why are there two places to change this value? just being curious.
thanks again for the help Dave!

I've never been successful using the advanced setting for theme options.
Don't know what it was.

I am not sure what happened between yesterday and today, but now I cannot upload pics at all (neither from the regular add photos, neither from the iphoto2Gallery exporter. I was able to upload yesterday night.
Do you have any cluee if this is because of the latest changes?
thanks!

ok, more developments:
trying to upload a 2.5Mb pic via the regular add photo on one of the exiting albums, I get this:
"This photo is too large (maximum is 50M bytes)"
where 50M is the value I have set in the .php.ini as:
upload_max_filesize = 50M
not sure what's happening...
thanks,
gabi

Do small items work, say under 500k in size?

Sorry to bring in a FAQ but:
FAQ: Why do I get a Error #2038 when I try to upload more than one item
looks to me like your connection to your host or some other issue is causing this. ~300k should work just fine.
What about other upload methods?
Dave

thanks Dave -
don't worry about the FAQ - they are helpful indeed.
Strangely, this morning from work (on a firefox)I tried uploading 6 pics (about 2.5M/each) this morning and all of them worked except one of them (the size was the same). Not sure why. Then I changed the gallery simultaneous_upload_limit to 1, and uploaded 7 pics via the add photos link. All worked!
Can it be that yesterday's error was because I was using the Safari browser on a mac? I read in the faq that the flash plugin has issues...
thanks!
