Is it possible to hide the title & description in the image viewer? [i]I don't feel like making nice titles & descriptions for all of my pictures, and I really just want to show visitors the picture...

I'm sure this has been asked before. Have you searched?

I have now (sorry for not doing sooner) but from what I understand is that I should edit theme files. I could, but is this safe to do? If I upgrade (the theme, that is) I suppose my changes will be lost, right?

I'd really like to find a solid (non-volatile) and preferrably easy way of doing this.

Yes it is safe to do in a copy of your own theme.
Create a copy of the theme you are using and upgrades will not override those files.

I see. Thanks. I'll check it out.

I still wish the default theme (at least) would have some more options... So then it would be kept up-to-date even with customizations.

Where do we draw the line for some more options?
Then we get a theme like the one in G2 that needed a book to understand all the options.

That's the question as always. More options with more flexibility, or less options making things easier.

If you really want to draw a line, user testing can provide answers...
