hello

i haven't installed gallery yet, but i want to ask is it possible to create an image gallery using image links? non of the photos are on my hard drive, but i have a list of image links (ie: form imgur.com) that i would like to turn into a gallery. (about 200 image links)

has anyone tried this before and can someone point me to where i can research this? im not sure what to search for.

thanks!

thank you so much :)

"Item Links is a module for Gallery 3 that allows users to convert existing gallery items (albums/photos/movies) into links to external URLs. Once this module is installed, all items will have a "Redirect to URL" field on the Edit album/Edit photo/Edit movie screens. Simply enter a URL (starting with "http://") into this field and press Modify to save."

if i have about 300 image links, do i need to manually copy and paste every single one? or is there a bulk option.. or maybe it can pull the image links from a text document?

last question, is it possible to make gallery display images exactly like this?

gridless, editing of spacing, multiple columns (most of the demos ive seen only have 3 colums?)

There is no bulk option as far as I know.
Anything is possible, I guess it depends on your skill set as I have never seen a module/theme similar to that site.

The reason most have 3 columns is that the theme is fixed width and the user specified a larger thumbsize of say 200px.
make the thumb smaller and you get more columns.

I've built a theme that is 4 columns for large screens 3 for smaller and 2 for smallest

try resizing your browser.

I'm not sure about "editing of spacing," but for the gridless part, the widewind theme doesn't work for you? It may at least be a good starting point.

Looks great! I've been working on a theme for mobile-only, but yours is a much more elegant solution. I've never used Gallery's REST, but you may have just given me a reason to try to figure it out.

I'll package up my source in a few days when I've finished playing w/ it.
