Hello everybody. As a long time Gallery 2 user I'm decided to set up an all new Gallery 3 server as a virtual machine. I want to store the photos on P:, which is a mapped network drive. My objective is to store the photos outside of the VM on my network storage device. The database, PHP, Apache, and Gallery 3 are all to be stored in the VM.

My problem is that when the Gallery Installer starts, it says:

Photo Storage

We've found a place to store your photos:

C:\Apache2.2\htdocs\gallery3/var/

I want to store it in P:/ right from the get go. The field is not modifiable. What can I do to override this?

Thanks
Enrique

Windows is not supported.

networked drives have been known to have performance implications.

Dave, I was planning to use a "network drive" as a bridge to the virtual machine's file system. Are you saying that even this is a problem? I don't know how else to store the pictures outside of the VM.

BTW, I will create a Linux VM instead. Which distro do you recommend?
