To Use Gallery Or A Paid Web Photo Gallery Application?

I am the creator/owner of a nostalgia website (marlowheights60sand70s.com) that has hundreds of photos on it. I am in the process of creating a new web site template, one that will be standards compliant, well organized, and rid of the current bloat encompassing the site. I need a photo gallery application that can easily integrate into my web site, and one I can modify the theme of the photo galleries, so that they closely resemble the look of my web site. I don't want to ferry visitors off to Flickr or some such other site, I want the photos on my site. My requirements for the photo gallery application are:

Must be able to upload multiple images quickly.
Must be able to adjust the size and layout of both thumbnails and full sized images.
Must be able to add captions to each photo. For example, I will have many elementary school class photos, and want/need to add students' names.
Must be able to easily edit the style/color/layout of the photo galleries.
Optionally I would like to be able to allow visitors to authenticate to the photo galleries and add their comments.
Optionally be able to watermark each image, or prevent/restrict the copying of images.
The application must be intuitive and easy to use, not something that only a professional or hard core web developer can use.

There is various upload methods.

You can choose the size of the thumb and the resized image. There is also a module for square and rectangle thumbs.

You can add descriptions title and tags to items.

This is all done with themes and or css. Some themes like the greydragon theme has colorpacks where you can choose the style you want.

use the registration module and then use the comment module.

G3s focus in the initial development stage was usability and we has usability experts on the team to guide its UI.

you will get biased opinions here but G2 or G3 fits your requirements as well as other free open source applications.
