The future of Gallery 3 / Release Schedule ?

There hasn't been a release sinc2 2011-04-23 (Bugfix 3.0.2).

Should we be concerned???

There are a lot of gallery projects such as

jalbum.net
piwigo.org
...

getting ground. Some of them are equal to Gallery v3 (not to V2) some of them are close behind,
moving on the fast lane to bypass Gallery V3.

Just my 20cent thoughts

I totally agree,

not that there are a lot of features that I would be missing. But I have to admit that I'm at least a bit concerned about the level of activity with Gallery3.

It starts with the categories in the Gallery forum. Just compare Gallery2 vs. Gallery3. To me it seems as Gallery3 doesn't have any priority anymore.

I tried Piwigo and it looks quite promissing. However I'd love to stay with Gallery as I still believe it's a stable application. But some news from the developers would help in believing into it's future.

The core Gallery dev team has been pretty busy with life and other issues - I suspect that you'll see another month or two of inactivity, but we are still committed to the cause and are still (slowly) pushing the ball forward. Hang in there!
