I am trying to set up Gallery 3 I have gone to my sites control panel and set up an sql database , I can see it via phpmydamin but of course ther is nothing in it. I have downloaded and unzipped the gallery and put the file in my public folder see www.radstone.net/gallery3 I have changed the permissions on the var file I enter my user and password and get We were unable to connect to your MySQL server with the username and password that you provided. Please go back and try again! Please help |

Are you sure the hostname is right?

Hi Dave
I am using localhost per the details on my control panel, but would apreciate a pointer to how to determine the exact hostname is it hidden smewhere on mysql

localhost is very common but your host will be able to give details if it is different.
