I installed JoomG2 (Version 1.0.0) and when I try to configure, I receive following error-message:
"Valid Joomla! 1.7 installation not found in entered path. "

my Joomla Root is "/home/larifari/public_html"

I followed all the instructions on page "codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Modules:joomg2"

Any ideas??

Thank you

Bernhard

There is a new version of JoomG2 (1.0.1) and with this installation on Joomla! 1.7 is working.
I still have some issues but not sure, wether this is a mistake of mine, I'll uninstall and install new.

For information.

There are issues with the JoomG2 module on Joomla 1.6 and above. I will look into resolving these in v1.0.2 of the module but can't guarantee when I'll be able to get to it.

Run Joomla and G2 separately with all the module installation steps but do not activate the module in G2 for the time being.

I'm having a problem with my JoomG2 (1.0.10) configuration.

I am running Gallery 2.3.2.

From the plugins screen. I've installed the plugin without any issue. When I click on the configuration link I receive a blank screen (sidebar and top menu are still present). No error messages. When I go back to the plugins screen from there, the JoomG2 is still not activated and still needs configuration.

Any ideas?

Try v1.0.11 ... the v1.0.10 release file set had a major issue.

Or wait a few hours for v1.0.12 with further improvements.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried to download 1.0.11 but I received a message "Request Denied - Item Recently Downloaded". How do I get past that?

Ha!

That page was my first serious foray into AJAX and I put that bit in to thwart casual link bots chewing up my bandwidth. Good to see it works :)

Been a while, so I can't recollect exactly, but you should be able to bypass it by shutting down and relaunching your browser.

I was able to download 1.0.11. I've installed it without any problems and it is working as it should. Did you say that v1.0.12 will be available today?

Nice to know.

Actually, v1.0.12 is running on the demo site but I need to crack some things before releasing.

Not sure when I'll be done.

P.S. Please add any follow ups to the support site or to the main thread.

There is another issue I'm having. Per the joomg2 instructions, I created a menu item in Joomla that uses an external url to point to gallery2. When I click on this menu item ("Gallery2") my gallery page shows up in the center position of the Joomla page. The gallery2 page is shrunk so that it fits into that space. Is there a way to integrate menu items from gallery2 into Joomla and not show the sidebar and top of the gallery page?

There is no way to automatically override the Joomla menu with a G2 menu in the module and this feature is not in the plans for the module at this point.

Options:

1. Use another theme. I find that the "siriux" theme seems to work better out of the box (as at v1.0.11) than "matrix" for instance

2. Clone your G2 theme and edit to taste

- create a copy of your current theme folder
- change the folder name to something else (all lower case)
- find and replace the original name in theme.inc
- install the new theme.
- edit the root album and make the new theme the default and set to to apply to all sub albums
- edit out the bits you do not want to show from template files (most likely in theme.tpl).

3. You can also edit your Joomla template to add more space to the central portion used to inject G2.

I'll look into adding an option to hide the sidebar. Might be possible to use JS to make it slide in/out in all themes like in the "carbon" theme.
