I have multiple albums in my gallery. For an album with 75 images, sorting by any method works great. I sort by Capture Date and it's accurate.
For my album with 1600 images, it looks like it's stuck with the upload order. Capture Date sort isn't even getting it close to right. It's not timing out or giving me any errors. From Edit Album, I set it to Sort by Capture Date – Ascending then click Modify and it's done quickly. From the Organize window, I set it to Sort by Capture date and it pops up Sorting, then Loading, and nothing's changed. Try Ascending and nothing changes. Try Descending and nothing changes.

1) Is anybody else able to sort a large album?
2) Do I need to provide any other information that can help?
3) Is there a workaround or a fix for this?

From my modules page:
Gallery 3 Version 49 (3.0.2)
Organize Version 4

From Dashboard:
PHP: 5.2.17
MySQL: 5.1.39-log

PHP Memory Limit 90M

[update] I added 17 pictures to this album, so they ended up on the last page. When I tried to take what used to be the last image and drag it 17 slots to make it the last image again, they system churned for a bit and then stated "An error has occurred. Please contact your system administrator." This is what shows up in the log:
2011-07-10 22:48:36 -07:00 --- error: Missing messages entry kohana/core.errors.400 for message kohana/core
2011-07-10 22:48:36 -07:00 --- error: Rest error details: Array

Nevermind. In my quest to pretty up my sidebars, I turned off the EXIF module. I turned it back on, updated the EXIF data, then re-sorted my album. All is well now.
