This ticket has been closed a duplicate, but I couldn't what it duplicates and whether work is on on this functionality. Please can one of the developers help me understand?

It is a dupe of http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/gallery/ticket/1152 no work is being done on it as far as I know.

It's not quite a duplicate. I think 1326 is an entirely different (and better) approach than 1152.

I don't see how you could do 1326 without creating some concept of hierarchical tags, as per 1152. This is how Digital Asset Management (database) programs like iMatch operate.

Nested queries rather than hierarchical tags.

Same thing as Amazon (and several ecommerce scripts) do with product specs....

The example used by 1326 may mislead you into thinking we are talking about linear hierarchies...but consider this:

4 tags: Red, Blue, Boat, Festival.

If I click on Red, it should show me the pictures tagged Red. But also, it should show the tags for the pictures tagged red...so if there is only one picture, and it has 2 tags: Red and Boat then I should only see Boat in the tags list now ....conversely, if in the beginning I clicked on boat instead of red, then I should see only red in the tags list...there isn't a hierarchy.

That's what drill-down means....

three months ago it's milestone was changed from 3.2 to 3.0.3
